Martha Wilks Harrison moved to northern Utah from sunny south Florida 27 years ago. She is a registered nurse with experience in Intensive Care/Coronary Care and Home Nursing. She extended her nursing training into the field of hypnosis 23 years ago and has established a private practice as the Brigham Hypnosis Center in Brigham City, UT, where she assists others in weight loss, smoking cessation, peak athletic performance, self esteem and confidence problems, compulsive sexual behaviors, and any other habit that interferes with their happiness.
Martha is also a co-founder of the Resiliency Institute for Personal Growth. With her two partners, she has traveled from coast-to-coast teaching principles of resiliency in women.
Martha was initially trained and certified by the American Council of Hypnotist Examiners in 1986; she is currently certified by the National Guild of Hypnotists, the oldest and largest professional hypnotists organization in the world. She is certified as a Consulting Hypnotist (hypnotherapist) and Instructor. Martha founded Brigham Hypnosis Center in 1987. She has published four audiotapes, a CD, and three professional manuals. She is currently in the process of writing her first book, “Rescue: Healing Your Broken-Hearted Inner Child;” it is filled with her clients™ poignant healing experiences using hypnosis.
Martha is married to Dennis Harrison. They have a combined family of thirteen children and 44 grandchildren, and they are raising two grandsons, Trevor 16 and Alexander 3. She is passionate about riding her motorcycle on warm sunny days; she traveled from Utah to Phoenix, AZ, and to Steamboat Springs, CO, on her bike in the past two years.
Active in civic affairs, Martha is the court liaison officer with BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse) where she attends court cases supporting family members when their perpetrators come to hearings; she also serves as recruiting coordinator for the Bear River Medical Reserve Corps under Homeland Security. She has also served in the Brigham City Rotary Club and the Chamber of Commerce.
Martha is active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
